March in support of Ruben Vardanyan starts in Yerevan
A march started in central Yerevan late on Saturday afternoon to express solidarity with prominent Armenian businessman, philanthropist, Artsakh’s former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, as well as other former and current Artsakh officials detained by Azerbaijan.
Ruben Vardanyan, former Artsakh army commander Levon Mnatsakanyan and deputy commander Davit Manukyan were taken captive and arrested by Azerbaijani border guards as they attempted to cross from Artsakh into Armenia via the Lachin Corridor this week.
Artsakh presidential advisor David Babayan announced on September 28 that he was handing himself over to the Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities.
"Ruben is the symbol of a true Armenian, a courageous and charitable man," the march organizer, Ruben Hayrapetyan, said, adding more actions will follow.
