Japan announces $2 million in aid for displaced Artsakh Armenians
The Japanese government has decided to allocate a $2 million grant to help the people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), the country's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The funds will be transferred through the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, TASS reported.
The Japanese government’s grant will be used to purchase non-food items, medicine and water supplies.
According to the latest figures, a total of 100,632 people have crossed into Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh since its violent seizure by Azerbaijan in September.
