Armenia to host international balloon festival in mid-October
The fifth international balloon festival "Discover Armenia from the Sky" will be held in Armenia in mid-October.
Flights of more than 20 hot air balloons in Yerevan, Garni and Aparan are planned during the festival slated for October 14-18, the Skyball company director, Nairi Barseghyan, said at a news conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.
The festival brings together participants from Brazil, Germany, the UK, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Japan and Russia.
“The first flight will be carried out from Republic Square at daybreak on 14 October, at 7am, while the second flight will start at 5pm,” Barseghyan said.
During the sport part of the festival, the balloon crews showing the best performance will be awarded.
