Hundreds of students from Artsakh set to continue their education in Armenia, minister says
More than 500 students, who were forced to flee Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) along with hundreds of thousands of ethnic Armenians in September, are set to continue their studies in Armenia’s universities, the education minister says.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said hundreds of other students had applied for admission into collages in the country.
She recalled that the Armenian government had already approved the procedure for full or partial tuition fee reimbursement for forcibly displaced students from Nagorno-Karabakh.
“All of them will be enrolled in Armenia’s educational institutions in the coming days, and I am sure that we will be able to ensure everyone's access to education in a very short time," Andreasyan assured.
