Putin says Russia ready to help Armenia, Azerbaijan sign peace deal
Russia is ready to facilitate the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday, October 13.
Speaking at a narrow-format meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, he said Moscow could host peace talks between Yerevan and Baku, RIA Novosti reported.
The Russian leader noted that the preparation of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan to "finally put an end to this long-standing conflict" was on the agenda.
"The Russian side is certainly ready to provide our partners with all possible assistance in this," Putin said.
