Avinyan: Yerevan Municipality not a meeting place for journalists and officials
Newly-elected Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has explained why reporters were not allowed to attend his inauguration ceremony held on Friday.
"The swearing-in ceremony today was held in a somewhat different format. It was a bit more eventful," he said.
Avinyan noted that the ceremony was broadcast live and photos and videos were released for media outlets.
"I’m sorry but the Municipality is not a meeting place for journalists and other officials. Today was the swearing-in ceremony," he emphasized.
