Kidnapped Artsakh man can't hold back tears in Baku court
The sham trail of 68-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, an Artsakh resident kidnapped by Azerbaijani forces in late July, kicked off in Baku on Friday.
Photos and videos released by the Azerbaijani media show the man could not hold back his tears during the trial. Also, he can be seen wearing a dirty shirt.
Vagif Khachatryan was kidnapped and arrested by Azerbaijani border guards at the Lachin checkpoint on July 29. He was one of 15 patients being evacuated to Armenia by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The man is facing charges of "genocide" and "deportation or forced movement of the population" under Azerbaijan's Criminal Code.
