Armenia launches special flight to evacuate citizens from Israel
The Armenian government has launched a special Tel-Aviv-Yerevan flight to evacuate its citizens and their families who wish to leave Israel for safety reasons, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
“The flight manifest has been compiled based on the applications submitted to the Armenian Embassy in Israel and the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in accordance with the chronology, presence of children and the principle of not separating the families,” it said.
Citing latest reports, the ministry said no Armenian citizens or ethnic Armenians had been identified among the victims of hostilities in Israel.
The Civil Aviation Committee told Panorama.am that the flight was operated by Armenian Airlines.
"The airplane bound for Tel Aviv took off at 9:36 a.m. local time. According to preliminary data, the plane will return to Yerevan at 1 p.m. local time if there are no delays. The flight lasts 2 hours and 40 minutes," the committee reported.
