Respiratory viruses surge in Armenia
Armenia’s health authorities report a surge in acute respiratory infections in the country.
In a statement on Thursday, the Health Ministry said the number of people seeking medical care in clinics and other medical facilities for respiratory viruses had increased.
The virus cases in Armenia exceed the epidemic threshold 1.3 times, it said.
70% of cases have been confirmed among people under 18 years of age. Of them, 57% are children under four years old.
The Health Ministry urges all to get vaccinated to contain the spread of influenza and other viral infections.
