President says Artsakh Republic 'not dissolved'
The Artsakh Republic “has not been dissolved” as no document can dissolve a state created by the people, its president, Samvel Shahramanyan, announced on Friday.
He referred to a decree signed by him to dissolve all state institutions by 1 January 2024 in the wake of Azerbaijan’s large-scale military offensive which saw Baku seize full control of Artsakh in mid-September.
“The Artsakh Republic has not been dissolved,” Shahramanyan told a group of displaced Artsakh people protesting outside the Artsakh Representation in Yerevan.
“There are numerous issues related to the document, which I cannot talk about here. But you can rest assured that this document has both positive and negative aspects. No document can dissolve a republic established by the people,” he stated.
Shahramanyan promised to talk about his decree in detail in an interview to the Public TV Company soon.
