Tatoyan: Children killed by Azeri forces in Artsakh's Sarnaghbyur were at school
Five civilians, including three children, were killed in an Azerbaijani attack in Sarnaghbyur, a village in Artsakh’s Askeran region, in mid-September.
Two of them were brothers aged 8 and 10. They were at school during the Azeri shelling, Arman Tatoyan, Armenia’s former ombudsman who now runs the Tatoyan Foundation, told reporters on Friday.
He noted that amid the Azerbaijani blockade, when the children were at school, their parents went to Askeran to find some food or other goods, and communication with them was cut off.
In the wake of the Azeri attack, thousands of Askeran residents fled to the area of the airport in Ivanyan, Tatoyan said.
