Yerevan mayor awards police officer who ordered detention of fallen soldiers' parents
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has signed a decision to award a gold medal to Police Lieutenant Colonel Haykaz Jomardyan.
Jomardyan, commander of the special police forces regiment in Yerevan, ordered the detention of fallen soldiers’ parents protesting at the Yerablur Military Pantheon on Armenia’s 31st independence anniversary on 21 September 2022.
According to the mayor’s decision, the police officer was awarded for “significant contribution to the maintenance of public order and integrity."
Also, nine officials of the Interior Ministry have been awarded the Erebuni-Yerevan 2800th Anniversary commemorative medals.
