Iranian envoy reveals agenda of talks with Armenian, Azeri FMs
Strengthening regional stability, peace, and security is on the agenda of the 3+3 meeting in Tehran, Tehran’s Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said on Monday, referring to the neighborhood policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, MNA reported.
The surrounding issues can be negotiated and resolved with the cooperation and interaction of the countries of the region and without the involvement of external actors, the Iranian envoy stressed.
The second 3+3 meeting will kick off in Tehran on Monday with the presence of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, and Iran.
The meeting will address the issues of the South Caucasus region, peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the need to expand regional cooperation in political, economic, security, transit, and energy fields.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently announced that he had agreed to hold a meeting within the 3+3 format as proposed by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev.
The 3+3 format was established with the aim of resolving regional problems through the inclusion of regional countries and the exclusion of extra-regional and Western countries.
The first 3+3 meeting was held in Moscow last year at the level of deputy foreign ministers and without the presence of Georgia.
