Azerbaijan arrests another elderly Artsakh man
The State Security Service of Azerbaijan on Thursday announced the arrest of another elderly Artsakh man identified as Madat Babayan.
According to Azerbaijani media reports, the man was detained in the Karvachar district as part of Baku’s “anti-terrorist measures” back in September.
He is accused of participation in the so-called “Khojaly genocide” in 1992.
Earlier in October, a Baku court started the sham trial of 68-year-old Artsakh civilian Vagif Khachatryan, who was abducted and arrested by Azerbaijani border guards at the Lachin Corridor checkpoint on 29 July while being evacuated to Armenia by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for an urgent heart surgery.
