Armenia's NSS thwarts terror plot
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) says it has foiled a terror attack and arrested five suspects.
The suspects, alongside unidentified accomplices, plotted a bombing attack, seizure of Armenian government buildings and assassinations, the NSS said in a statement on Thursday.
Investigators seized firearms and ammunition, body armor, military fatigues, handcuffs and surveillance devices, among other things, while raiding the homes of the detainees.
The goal of the plotted attack was to paralyze the government agencies, the NSS said.
Authorities are working to identify the accomplices of the suspects.
A preliminary probe is underway.
