Armenia seeks expansion of EU mission, says deputy minister
Armenia seeks the expansion of the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA), Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan said on Friday.
"At this point, strengthening of the mandate is about the expansion of the mission and its new functions," he told reporters in the National Assembly, referring to a new agreement set to be signed with the EU.
The diplomat added that the document was under discussion.
"I can't provide further details yet, but the key issue is the expansion of the mission," Hovhannisyan said.
He stated that there had been a positive reaction from the EU and its member states in this regard.
