Azerbaijan to hold military parade in empty Artsakh capital
Azerbaijan plans to hold a military parade in Stepanakert, the ghostly capital of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) which it ethnically cleansed just over a month ago.
The parade to be hosted by Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on 8 November will celebrate the third anniversary of Baku’s “great victory” in the 44-day Artsakh war in 2020.
Azerbaijan’s state-run TV channel AzTV on Tuesday released photos and videos showing preparations for the military parade.
Azerbaijan seized full control of Nagorno-Karabakh after its one-day military offensive, forcing more than 100,000 indigenous Armenians to flee their homes in Artsakh.
