Trial begins in brutal murder of woman and her two children in Armenian village
The Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan on Thursday began the public trial in the brutal murder of a young woman and her two minor children in Pemzashen, a village in Armenia’s Shirak Province, in November 2022. Judge Artush Gabrielyan is presiding over the trial.
The bodies of a 31-year-old woman and her two children, aged 12 and 8, were found in their home in Pemzashen on November 9.
Two fellow villagers, Vruyr Barseghyan and Arkady Barseghyan, were detained and charged as part of a criminal probe into the case.
Vruyr Barseghyan has pleaded guilty to the charges against him, while Arkady Barseghyan, who is his relative, denies any involvement in the crime.
The family’s father was working abroad at the time of the horrific incident.
