Armenian opposition MP summoned to Investigative Committee for questioning
MP Hayk Mamijanyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction has been summoned to Armenia’s Investigative Committee for questioning as part of a criminal probe into “public calls for violence”.
“I’ve just received a summons for questioning from the Investigative Committee under Article 330 (Part 1 of) of the Armenian Criminal Code (publicly justifying or advocating violence, as well as disseminating materials or objects for that purpose),” the deputy wrote on Facebook on Friday.
The case concerns Mamijanyan’s statements at a press briefing in the parliament on 12 September in which he urged Artsakh to “hold on before Yerevan makes a change.”
“There is no other option for the survival of the two Armenian states,” the MP said.
