Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan failed to register for OSCE PA meeting in Yerevan
Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan have not yet responded to an invitation to participate in the upcoming OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Yerevan, MP Sargis Khandanyan, chair of the Armenian parliament’s foreign relations committee, said on Monday.
"The International Secretariat has sent invitations to all 56 participating states of the Assembly, as well as 11 partner states. There are no registered participants from Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Although the delegates from Azerbaijan raised the issue of security guarantees for coming to Armenia in advance, and the Armenian National Assembly expressed such readiness, at the moment they are not registered. There are only a few days left, so I assume that the Azerbaijani delegates will not attend the meeting," he said in an interview to the Public TV Company.
Referring to Russia’s failure to confirm its participation in the meeting, Khandanyan said that he was not aware of the reasons.
"I've inquired with the International Secretariat, there is no information at the moment," the MP added.
The 21st autumn meeting of the OSCE PA will be held in Yerevan on 18-20 November.
