MP insists on Artsakh officials' testimony before war commission
Senior pro-government MP Andranik Kocharyan has stressed the importance for Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan and former Artsakh army commander Jalal Harutyunyan to testify before the Armenian parliament commission probing the 2020 war.
“It’s crucial for Samvel Shahramanyan and Jalal Harutyunyan to testify before the commission,” he told reporters on Thursday.
Kocharyan said they were waiting for Shahramanyan’s response to an invitation sent by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense and Security led by him.
He recalled that before the 44-day war Samvel Shahramanyan led Artsakh's National Security Service.
"Today I talked to Jalal Harutyunyan, there is a small legal problem here. If it’s solved, he will be able to appear before the commission," the MP added.
