Azerbaijan snubs Washington talks with Armenia
Baku has refused to attend a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington on November 20, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.
Responding to U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien's "unacceptable" comments at a congressional hearing on Wednesday, Baku warned that Washington's "unilateral approach" could lead to the loss of its role as a mediator.
"Under these circumstances, it is important to note that we do not consider possible to hold the proposed meeting on the level of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, in Washington on November 20, 2023," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added.
