Opposition MP blames Armenian authorities for people's 'tragedy'
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan accused the Armenian leadership of failure to ensure the country’s security, sovereignty and inviolability of borders as key priorities over the past five years.
Speaking at a parliamentary briefing on Friday, he downplayed the proposed increase in spending for various sectors under the 2024 draft budget given the grave security challenges facing the country after Azerbaijan’s seizure of Artsakh.
“Now what is the point of talking about increasing budgetary allocations to this or that sphere, when every year the average citizen records a large number of casualties and territorial losses?” he stressed, accusing the authorities of ignoring the primary issues.
“These people don’t realize that they have created problems, that their policy has led to tragedy for the Armenian people," Abrahamyan added.
