Pashinyan warns of new Azerbaijani aggression
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned of the risk of fresh Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.
In his opening remarks at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Yerevan on Saturday, the premier pointed to the official Azerbaijan statements referring to the territory of modern-day Armenia as “Western Azerbaijan”.
He highlighted that the narrative of “Western Azerbaijan” is spread in schools and advanced by state-run media.
"This seems to be a preparation for new war, a new aggression against Armenia, which is a major obstacle to progress in the peace process,” he stated.
Pashinyan also called out Azerbaijan’s consistent refusal to return dozens of Armenian captives despite Armenia’s calls for swap of all prisoners.
“Nevertheless, Armenia remains committed to the peace agenda,” he added.
