One of YSU blast victims dies in hospital
One of the victims of last week’s explosion and fire at Yerevan State University (YSU) died in hospital on Thursday, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said.
In a public post on Facebook, the minister said the patient’s condition dramatically worsened and his life could not be saved.
One person was killed and three others were injured in the wake of the blast that occurred in the basement of the YSU Chemistry Faculty building on November 17.
Speaking to reporters earlier on Thursday, Avanesyan said the two victims, who had been take to the National Center for Burns and Dermatology after the explosion, remained in serious condition.
“The other patient is in stable condition and has been moved to a ward,” she wrote.
The third victim, a police officer who suffered smoke inhalation, was discharged from the hospital after receiving the necessary medical care.
