YSU explosion victims remain in serious condition, minister says
Two victims of last week’s deadly explosion and fire at Yerevan State University (YSU) remain in grave condition, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said on Thursday, adding the burns make it difficult for them to recovery swiftly.
At the same time, the minister said the patients were out of danger.
“They are showing signs of recovery. I cannot say anything else,” she told reporters.
The third victim, a police officer who suffered smoke inhalation, was discharged from the hospital after receiving the necessary medical care.
The explosion occurred in the basement of the YSU Chemistry Faculty building on November 17.
One person was killed in the wake of the incident.
