Artsakh MP deplores Armenian president's statement
Davit Galstyan, head of the Justice faction in the Artsakh parliament, has criticized the latest statement of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan who claimed the functioning of Artsakh’s state institutions posed a threat to Armenia’s security.
“The Armenian president echoes the statements made by all other Armenian government officials,” the lawmaker told Panorama.am on Wednesday.
He stated that Artsakh was never a threat to Armenia over the past 30 years, adding Armenia was safer when Artsakh was powerful and had strong state institutions.
“These statements are simply grist to the mill of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and a show of gratitude to Azerbaijan and Turkey," Galstyan remarked.
He stressed that neither the incumbent Armenian president nor other government officials had any contribution to the formation and survival of Artsakh, therefore Artsakh “is of no value” for them.
"No pro-Armenian politician, no Armenian can view Artsakh as a threat to any country, especially Armenia," the deputy claimed.
Also, he said Artsakh MPs hold discussions repeatedly and parliamentary hearings could also be held if necessary.
