Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday had a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The meeting was held in Skopje on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

They discussed security and stability issues in the South Caucasus, as well as the latest developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

"Ararat Mirzoyan underlined that despite the non-constructive attitude shown by Azerbaijan, the ethnic cleansing carried out in Nagorno-Karabakh and the existing humanitarian problems, the Republic of Armenia sent to Azerbaijan the proposals regarding the draft peace agreement in line with the well-known principles, and in case of the clear commitment by Azerbaijan, it will be possible to achieve significant progress in this direction," the ministry said in its readout of the meeting.

"The interlocutors touched upon the regional programs, in the context of which Minister Mirzoyan recalled the "Crossroads of Peace'' project developed by the Government of Armenia, emphasizing the advantages anticipated from its implementation for the stability of the region," the statement added.

During the meeting, Mirzoyan and Blinken touched upon the Armenia-US bilateral agenda. Views were exchanged on existing cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms and prospects for its enrichment.
