7-year-old child dies after dog attack in Armenian village
A 7-year-old child died on Wednesday after being attacked by stray dogs in Surenavan, a village in Armenia's Ararat Province.
The Ararat Medical Center told Panorama.am that the child was dead when he was brought to the hospital.
The medical center added that a forensic medical examination was yet to establish the exact cause of his death.
The Investigative Committee said a probe was underway into the incident and promised to provide details later.
The dog bite statistics are alarming. According to the data provided to Panorama.am by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as many as 6,919 people suffered from animal attacks in the country in January-October 2023, up by 1,375 from the same period last year.
The most cases of attacks, 2,807, were recorded in Yerevan.
