Panorama.am photojournalist wins award for Artsakh photo
The History Museum of Armenia on Tuesday opened the photo exhibition “Documenting the Eternal: Artsakh”.
The exhibition features more than 50 photographs representing the historical and cultural heritage of Artsakh sent by the participants of the contest of the same name.
The contest was organized by the History Museum in collaboration with the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art as part of the temporary exhibition “Documenting the Eternal: Aram, Ara, Artashes Vruyrs”.
Thanks to Aram and Ara Vruyrs, the photographs of the Jugha cemetery of khachkars, destroyed by Azerbaijan, have been preserved and reached us.
History Museum Director David Poghosyan told reporters that the organization of such an exhibition was not pre-planned and its idea emerged during the contest.
The photos tell about the endangered Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh following the 44-day war in 2020 and its full seizure by Azerbaijan in mid-September.
After the opening ceremony, the authors of the best-selected photographs from both Armenia and Artsakh were presented with awards.
Panorama.am photojournalist Lilian Galstyan won the Best Art Photo award for her shot "We And Our Mountains".
