Baku court sentences Armenian reservist to 18 years in jail
A court in Baku on Thursday handed down an 18-year prison sentence to Gagik Voskanyan, an Armenian reservist taken captive by Azerbaijani troops in August.
According to Azerbaijani media reports, the man is set to service five years of his sentence in prison and the rest in a correctional facility before being extradited from Azerbaijan.
Voskanyan, who participated in military training assemblies, appeared in Azerbaijani territory in yet unknown circumstances before being apprehended by Azeri servicemen on August 16.
Azerbaijani authorities accused him of an attempted terror and subversive attack.
