Missing Armenian soldier's father still hopes for his son's return
Garik Ayvazyan, the father of Armenian soldier Pap Ayvazyan who went missing during the 2020 Artsakh war, searched for his son's name in the list of Armenian prisoners to be released by Baku.
"I read the names and surnames of all 32 prisoners with a trembling heart. Welcome home, dear boys! The painful longing for you will soon come to an end,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I knew that 32 servicemen would return, but involuntarily searched the list for the 33rd. God, please bring a miracle into our life too!" the man said.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on Thursday to exchange prisoners of war and work toward signing a peace treaty.
Azerbaijan said it would release 32 Armenian prisoners of war in exchange for the release of two Azerbaijani soldiers detained in Armenia.
