Macron hails Armenia's accession to Rome Statute as 'courageous step'
French President Emmanuel Macron has hailed Armenia's accession to the Rome Statute as a “courageous step” in his speech at the Palais de Chaillot for the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on Sunday.
"I would like to emphasize Armenia's courage in deciding to accede to the Rome Statute, which is a remarkable gesture given that the recent months have brought their share of tragedies to this country and people," French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies quoted him as saying in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute on October 3.
