Pro-government MP denies reports about Yerevan airport as 'slander'
MP Khachatur Sukiasyan, who represents Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party, has rejected as "slander" media reports that he plans to get Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport.
“Neither Khachatur Sukiasyan nor his family members plan to acquire it,” his spokeswoman Anna Mkrtchyan said in a statement on Monday.
"This is yet another fake news and defamation targeting the Sukiasyan family," she added, warning Oragir.News which disseminated the news to either refute it or face a lawsuit.
Citing its sources, Oragir.News reports that the lawmaker has told Argentine-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian, owner of the Armenia International Airports CJSC that operates Zvartnots Airport, to sell it to him at a “reasonable price”, warning his refusal would lead to “consequences”.
