111 intestinal infection cases recorded in Yerevan last week
No deviations were recorded after laboratory analyses of drinking water in Yerevan last week, Marine Kotanyan, an official of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, announced on Monday.
"During the same period, 111 cases of intestinal infections, 693 airborne diseases, 241 cases of child injuries, 28 cases of parasitic diseases and 34 cases of chemical poisoning were recorded among the residents of Yerevan," she told a meeting of the Yerevan City Council.
An official from the Food Safety Inspectorate said in turn that his agency hotline received seven calls related to food expiration dates and storage conditions, adding supervisory measures were taken.
"No emergencies were registered over the past week," he said.
