Khachaturian International Violin Competition kicks off in Beijing
The Khachaturian International Violin Competition kicked off in Beijing on December 17, the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation reported.
It marks the 120th birth anniversary of renowned Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian.
17 violinists are showcasing their talent on stage, competing for top positions in this global contest.
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of its artistic director and chief conductor Sergey Smbatyan, is also invited to the competition. The orchestra will accompany the finalists and will perform at the gala concert of the Khachaturian International Competition on December 28.
The competition is being held in China for the first time.
