Renowned pianist Lola Astanova arrives in Yerevan for first-ever concert
Prominent classical pianist Lola Astanova has arrived in Yerevan for her first-ever concert in the Armenian capital.
The concert is scheduled to be held at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on December 20.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the concert on Tuesday, the pianist said she was excited to be in Yerevan. The upcoming concert program features both classical and her own works, including a world premiere.
"Tomorrow I want to play a completely new composition. I have not performed it anywhere else yet. It will be a world premiere in Yerevan," Astanova noted, adding she will also play one of Charles Aznavour's works.
Speaking about her music career, she said: "I just decided one day to do what I wanted to regardless of whether people liked it or not, whether they criticized it or not. I didn't care at all what others would say. I just selfishly decided to do what I wanted and what aligned with my inner aesthetic."
