Aliyev addresses audience at stadium in occupied Stepanakert
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday addressed the audience before the start of the Azerbaijani Cup round of 16 match between FC Qarabag and MOIK at the stadium of Stepanakert, the capital of the Azeri-occupied Artsakh Republic.
"Four years ago, some on this stadium declared: "Karabakh is Armenia, period!" We have proven to them that Karabakh is Azerbaijan," he said, referring to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement at a rally in Stepanakert's Renaissance Square in August 2019.
"From now on, the flag of Azerbaijan will forever fly above these lands. We, Azerbaijanis, will forever live here,” Aliyev added.
