Drivers warned over icy roads in Armenia
The Rescue Service has warned drivers about closed roads and icy conditions in Armenia as of Thursday morning.
In particular, the roads linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
The highway leading to the resort town of Jermuk, as well as the Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, Sisian-Zanger roadways are partly icy.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is open to all vehicles.
Drivers are urged to use winter tires exclusively.
