Russian MP: Armenia, Azerbaijan 'one step away' from signing peace deal
Armenia and Azerbaijan are actually “one step away” from signing a peace treaty, Leonid Kalashnikov, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, said on Monday.
“The events that took place and eventually led to the current situation were proceeding in the right direction. Only three regional neighbors have to agree on this matter: Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia. I have always talked about it. I never had much faith in the Minsk Group dealing with Karabakh, which was co-chaired, apart from Russia, by the United States and France. They didn't lift a finger," the MP told Svobodnaya Pressa in an interview.
