CIS meeting kicks off in St. Petersburg
An informal summit of the CIS heads of state, which is traditionally held before the New Year by Russian President Vladimir Putin, has started in St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reports.
The meeting is a traditional format of communication between the heads of state, who for many years have gathered in St. Petersburg in late December.
Earlier on Monday, the Russian leader held a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg in attendance of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov.
