Milan close to extending Henrikh Mkhitaryan's contract
Inter Milan and experienced Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan are close to finalizing a new agreement, Daily Sports reported, citing well-known football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Both parties have discussed all the details and reached a common ground. The new deal for the Armenian midfielder with the club is expected to extend until the summer of 2025, while the current one expires in June 2024. An official announcement about the deal is expected to be made soon.
Earlier reports indicated that Inter was working on extending contracts for two more players from their main squad.
In the current Serie A season, Henrikh has participated in 17 matches, registered two precise shots, and provided five assists. The highly experienced player has previously played for clubs such as Pyunik, Metalurh Donetsk, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Roma. Mkhitaryan has been with Inter since July 2022.
Inter currently holds the top spot in Serie A, leading Juventus by four points. On December 29, Simone Inzaghi's team will conclude the year with an away match against Genoa.
