Russia sees good prospects for Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization
Foreign forces are attempting to “drag Armenia into even more dangerous geopolitical games,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
“The West is absolutely indifferent towards the fate of Armenia and Armenian people. Taking into account our friendly relations, Russia is ready to support peace, stability and prosperity of Armenia in every possible way. This is indeed of profound importance for us,” the Russian diplomat told a press briefing.
Zakharova also talked about the prospects for the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
“We see good prospects for the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku based on the trilateral agreements of the Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders signed in 2020-2022,” she stated.
Zakharova also pointed to prerequisites for the establishment of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
"Russia is generally interested in reducing conflicts in the South Caucasus and unlocking the region's rich potential, which could be facilitated by expanding cooperation within the framework of the consultative regional platform 3+3," the spokeswoman added.
