Opposition MP rejects 'peace deal' with Azerbaijan
Opposition MP and ARF Armenia chair Ishkhan Saghatelyan has rejected the would-be peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a document imposed by Baku.
"Please don’t call this document a "peace treaty" as it has nothing to do with peace and is imposed by Azerbaijan. Armenia gets nothing from it," he told reporters on Friday.
Saghatelyan claims Azerbaijan seeks to legitimize its seizure of sovereign Armenian lands, plotting fresh attacks on Armenia.
The MP says at the time of the possible signing of the peace agreement, the Azerbaijani troops will remain on the sovereign territory of Armenia, border delimitation and demarcation will not be carried out and Artsakh’s military and political leaders will remain in Baku prisons.
"The authorities are simply incapable of doing anything, and they don't want to. The current Armenian government is a puppet of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and has long abandoned the idea of protecting Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," Saghatelyan added.
