Armenia recorded 123 Covid cases in past two weeks, expert says
As many as 123 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Armenia in the past two weeks, down by seven cases from the previous two weeks, says Romella Abovyan, head of the Department for Epidemiology of Noncommunicable Diseases and Nosocomial Infections at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, the expert said the Covid hospitalization rate was low as patients did not develop serious complications to require hospital care.
Abovyan stressed that the World Health Organization (WHO) had not classified any coronavirus strain as a "variant of concern”.
“Substrains of the Omicron variant are more prevalent in Armenia and globally,” she added.
