Opposition MP rejects 'delusional' claims about peace with Azerbaijan
Armenian opposition MP Levon Kocharyan has reacted to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s renewed demands for Armenia to open an extraterritorial land corridor to Nakhichevan.
"If you believed that Azerbaijan and Turkey wanted to establish peace with Armenia, you were deluded," Kocharyan, who represents the opposition Hayastan faction, wrote on Telegram on Thursday.
"If you continue to think this way even after the Azerbaijani president’s interview, you are simply detached from reality (to put it mildly). When are you going to realize that it is impossible to reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth?,” the MP said, quoting Winston Churchill.
Kocharyan insisted on the ouster of the current Armenian leadership and the repair of relations with Armenia’s allies as steps necessary to deal with the current situation.
