Armenia-Turkey border checkpoint ready for use after renovation, official says
The Margara checkpoint on the Armenia-Turkey border is ready for use after a major renovation, Deputy Chairman of the Armenian State Revenue Committee Karen Tamazyan says.
“All infrastructures in terms of technical customs equipment, passport control and border guards are in place to ensure proper passenger service,” he told reporters.
Armenia and Turkey agreed to open their shared border for citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders earlier in 2023. The border reopening was scheduled for June, but the process has seen delays.
