Opposition MP says 'false' peace promises weaken people's vigilance
Opposition Hayastan faction MP Gegham Manukyan accused the Armenian authorities of weakening the people’s vigilance with false promises of peace.
“They are consistently using the word “peace” every single day without creating security mechanisms for it,” he told reporters on Thursday. “Overdosed by the word “peace”, the society does not maintain vigilance.”
“They are just imitating peace talks, but it is absolutely clear that the Armenian side does not have clear positions regarding what is being discussed currently. And that document, which could hardly be signed in the near future, is entirely in line with Azerbaijan’s agenda and would not bring peace to Armenia, creating much graver risks, " Manukyan stressed.
He claims Armenia’s peace proposals submitted to Azerbaijan and Baku’s response to them are about “completely different things”.
“Azerbaijan's proposals and what Armen Grigoryan, Nikol Pashinyan and others are telling the people seem to be totally disconnected with each other," Manukyan added.
