Political analyst doubts Armenian government's Crossroads of Peace project
Political analyst Armen Minasyan has cast doubt on the success of the Crossroads of Peace project promoted by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government.
Pashinyan first unveiled the project at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum on October 26.
Speaking at a debate hosted by Aysor.am on Saturday, Minasyan pointed to the ongoing efforts to create a new world order, adding a major escalation was expected in Southeast Asia.
"To be a crossroads of peace... What is a crossroads? It’s an intersection connecting two roads, but are the roads adjacent to Armenia peaceful?" he remarked.
"Armenia connects the Middle East, let's say, to the North and Europe to the East. As if there is peace everywhere, and we should become a crossroads. For Armenia to become a crossroads, peace should prevail from China to Portugal. The world is in a state of war and is preparing for an even bigger war. Do we hope to become a crossroads of peace amid wars? We can at best become an island of peace, but not a crossroads,” Minasyan added.
