Armenian diplomat reacts to Azerbaijan's suspension from PACE
Armenia's Ambassador to Greece, Cyprus and Albania Tigran Mkrtchyan has reacted to Azerbaijan's decision to exlude itself from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) ahead of the planned plenary vote to challenge their credentials on Wednesday.
The PACE resolved not to ratify the credentials of the Azerbaijani delegation over human rights violations, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the failure to fulfil its commitments.
"Turns out "reliable partner' is neither reliable nor a partner at all," Mkrtchyan said in a post on X. "Having some energy isn't the same as respecting the rule of law, neighbours' sovereignty & not presenting absurd territorial claims, not being proud of ethnic cleansing, glorifying murder & crimes against humanity."
